Postdocs at Princeton University

Postdoctoral research associates and fellows are appointed through the Office of the Dean of the Faculty. Though appointed through the Office of the Dean of Faculty, we are not faculty but academic professionals. Rules corresponding to the different types of postdoc appointments can be found on this Policies & Procedures website. In coordinating your appointment at Princeton, your primary contact will be your supervising professor and her departmental administrative staff, however, questions regarding benefits can be addressed by the Office of Human Resources

The Princeton Postdoctoral Council (PDC) aims to serve Postdoctoral Fellows, Postdoctoral Scholars and Research Associates at Princeton University by aiding in their professional development, fostering a sense of community and identity, and enhancing the quality of the postdoctoral experience.

webinar (zoom link to follow registration) Tuesday, June 2, 2020, 2:30 – 3pm Presented by Yuan Li, Scholarly Communications Librarian, Firestone Library, Princeton University and Bonnie L. Fong, Physical Sciences Librarian, John Cotton Dana Library, Rutgers University-Newark.

Open Educational Resources (OER) are freely accessible, openly licensed materials that are useful for teaching, learning, and assessing as well as for research purposes. OER form a part of “open solutions” alongside Open Source Software, Open Access, Open Data, and crowdsourcing platforms. In a global pandemic, OER and Open Access matter more than ever. Yuan will provide an overview on OER and share OER resources that Princeton faculty and students might want to use for remote teaching and learning. Bonnie will discuss Rutgers' Open and Affordable Textbook (OAT) Program and offer examples of the types of OER projects faculty have completed. This webinar is designed for faculty who may be interested in providing students more affordable, sustainable and accessible materials for now and the future. The 20-minute presentation segment of the webinar will be recorded for sharing on the library website. Following the presentation, participants are encouraged to ask questions relating to individual interests.
